Who We Are
The Texas Coastal Bend Blues Society is a 501c3 non-profit that is registered with the State of Texas and the U.S. Federal Government. We accept funds from donations and sponsors to further our cause (which are tax deductible). Our cause is to further the supporting the blues community in the Coastal Bend.
What We Do
How we support "The Blues" is on several levels. We have annual memberships for individuals, bands, businesses and venues that help cover our operating costs. We also hold events like festivals and concerts, a monthly blues jam open to the public, raffles, poker runs and even car shows to raise money for our overhead and Scholarship Fund, which is designed to help blues musicians entering college with their cost of tuition or even their housing needs. We are also incorporating workshops for kids that want to learn how to play blues music and to make that possible through mentor workshops with professional blues musicians. All of these activities would benefit greatly from sponsors and volunteers alike. Our Board of Directors are all volunteers so every dollar we bring in goes right back into supporting the blues right here in the Coastal Bend. We also are involved with Autism Awareness year round as we have an autistic musician as a Community Liaison and we are active in raising money for autistic kid's needs.
