Majesty Outdoors – Mentors/Volunteers Needed for West Side Chapter
MENTOR is someone, male or female who not only imparts knowledge, education, and experience but who is able to fill a relational void in a young person’s life. That void in our case is the presence of a positive male role model or a father figure. Mentors believe that it takes commitment to build a relationship, encouragement, nurturing, and trust! Realistically, it will take sacrifice to be the kind of mentor that is truly going to make a difference in one of these young person’s lives. Mentors/Volunteers can be men and women, and preferably family units. This family model gives children with whole families to see what it is like to not have a whole family, and for the children without father figures in the home to see what a whole family unit looks like.
The youth we work with at Majesty Outdoors Tidechangers share the commonality of not having a father actively involved in their life - but also have seen the family structure destroyed. Mentoring is modeling, and our mentors believe in a model that shows love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We are striving to create changed lives changing lives, and we need YOU!
Our mentor/volunteers are looking to be along for the long haul with these children, and are committed to building relationships all year long, and that is why we meet weekly with the kids.
Our mentors and volunteers will be trained to understand the difficulties and offer solutions to the many problems associated with fatherlessness.
Our mentors are trained and certified in evidence-based practices utilizing the benchmarks required by Mentor Inc.
