Coastal Bend Food Bank

Who We Are

The Coastal Bend Food Bank (CBFB) is a nonprofit organization that solicits and distributes food which might otherwise go to waste or be discarded by manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Since 1982, CBFB has been fighting hunger in the Coastal Bend by providing food and personal care products to various charity and service agencies.

Our mission is to fight hunger and promote wellness through food distribution and nutrition education.

What We Do

Our programs help us accomplish the Coastal Bend Food Bank’s mission by addressing hunger while also promoting health, wellness, and long-term stability in the communities we serve. Through programs like Kids’ Backpack and Mobile Pantry, we provide nutritious food directly to children, families, and individuals who may face barriers to accessing food. Our Nutrition Education and Diabetes Self-Management programs empower people with the knowledge and resources to make healthier choices, while Social Services connects neighbors with additional resources and support. Together, these programs allow us to not only provide food, but also help improve the overall well-being and quality of life for our neighbors across the Coastal Bend.
